What to Expect on Your First Visit
The Studio Space

My studio is in a private residence in the Windsor Forest neighborhood of Williamsburg. When you arrive, you can pull into the circular driveway and park by the front door. Look for the dragon mailbox and a gray house with a teal blue door.
For those with accessibility concerns, there are three front steps to navigate and a sturdy handrail to support you. I also have a portable ramp that I can set up upon request, or I can safely lift a wheelchair up and down the steps. The client bathroom is also equipped with grab bars for accessibility. Please contact me if you have any questions about accessibility.
Please ring the doorbell, and I (or, very occasionally, my wife Laura) will let you in. I ask that you arrive as close as possible to your appointment time, so that I have time to prepare between clients. If you arrive early, you’re welcome to simply wait in your car or call me so that I can greet you as soon as I’m available.
As you enter, you’ll be in a small entryway where you can leave your shoes. Both the studio (treatment room) and the private bathroom for your use are directly off the entryway.
Your First Visit
At your first appointment, I’ll ask you to fill out some intake forms that can be completed in less than 10 minutes.
We’ll also talk about what’s brought you here, what your expectations are, and how I work.
For bodywork clients, we’ll then do a full Postural Analysis to see what other issues may be affecting your current problem. After that, we’ll begin the bodywork session, using a massage table. You’ll remain clothed the whole time; clients typically wear garments that allow for movement, e.g., running shorts, sports bra, two-piece swimsuit. Underwear is also fine as long as you’re comfortable and are covered.
Payment Methods
Payment is made at the end of the session, via cash, check, or major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express).
Covid Safety Policies
I am fully vaccinated & boosted and have implemented a robust set of safety protocols to keep you safe, including:
- I will remain masked at all times. Masking is optional for clients, though always appreciated. (Disposable masks provided if needed.)
- Sanitizing before and after every client.
- Air purifier running continuously in the treatment room.
- Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes available.
I strongly encourage clients to be vaccinated if at all possible.
